Just Eat and Getir agree European rapid grocery delivery tie up

Just Eat Takeaway.com is partnering with rapid delivery company Getir across Europe.

As part of this, the latter’s entire product portfolio will be integrated into Just Eat Takeaway.com’s marketplace and will be delivered directly by Getir couriers.

The partnership will kick off in Germany next week, with approximately 2.000 items ready for customers to buy online from all Getir stores, through Lieferando’s app and website.

Andrew Kenny, interim COO at Just Eat Takeaway.com, says: “Our grocery offer is going from strength to strength and this exciting new partnership signifies our commitment to only expand this further.”

“Being one of Europe’s most known food delivery marketplaces, our customers can access everything from delicious meals from their local takeaway or favourite restaurant brand, to stocking up on store cupboard essentials and fresh groceries.”

“We’re delighted to be working with Getir to bring even more choice and convenience to our customers across Europe.”

Getir Regional General Manager, Turancan Salur, says: “As the pioneer of ultrafast grocery delivery, we have found a strong partner in Just Eat Takeaway.com with their excellent market positioning in Europe.”

“The cooperation of two strong international brands is an absolute win-win situation for both: our customers can choose from a wider range of grocery and convenience products. At the same time, Getir will benefit from accessing the large consumer base and continue to grow across Europe.”

The partnership will be rolled out to other European markets including the UK, Spain, Italy and France, in the coming weeks.

UBER EATS AND GOPUFF

Earlier this week, Uber and Gopuff announced a new UK partnership that will enable customers across the country who use the Uber Eats app to order from Gopuff’s range of everyday essentials, including branded products and fresh food items, direct from said app.

This builds on a US tie up, which launched in May 2021.

The roll-out of Gopuff stores onto the Uber Eats app will be completed by mid-November.

Orders will be fulfilled by the former’s delivery partners.

Alex Troughton, Head of Commerce at Uber Eats UK, says: “We are delighted that Gopuff has expanded to Uber Eats in the UK today.”

“We want to offer the best choice for customers up and down the country and being able to offer thousands of Gopuff’s wide range of everyday essentials will help us in this mission.”

Daniel Folkman, SVP Business at Gopuff, says: “Since inception, customers have been at the core of what we do.”

“Our extended partnership with Uber Eats makes sense, as we continue to expand our presence in the UK, a major growth market for us. Expanding our platform enables us to reach more customers where they are, bringing them the products they want, in the moment they need them.”

“Through the collaboration with Uber Eats, we’re able to offer the unmatched, high quality Gopuff experience across both platforms and better serve consumers across the UK.”
